San Diego, California-based Pulse Engineering Inc has been retained by IBM Corp to build a family of local network cabling products to support IBM’s 16Mbps Token Ring local area network architecture: the new cabling filters will be sold under the IBM logo, and are to enable users to run their Token Ring networks at 4Mbps and 16Mbps over unshielded twisted pair; Pulse did not quantify the business likely to be generated under the agreement since the products are just beginning to be marketed by IBM, but suggested that it had the potential to add several million dollars to its revenue during 1992.
