Ali baba was founded in 1999. It is known as a the Chinese equivalent of Amazon.

On its debut on the New York Stock Exchange in 2014 it was valued at $186bn making it the largest float on record.

Today  its market capitalisation is $199.5bn.

It has a number of marketplaces under its main brand. The firm recently launched its first smart car.
