NEC Corp has introduced a new range of notebook personal computers targeted at the corporate market. The new Versa LX series of machines run on 233MHz and 266MHz Pentium II processors with 32Mb of RAM and a 2.1Gb hard disk drive. It features NEC’s 1/4 inch thin film transistor liquid crystal display that is capable of displaying up to 16.7m colors and NEC is waxing lyrical over the machine’s multimedia capabilities. The notebooks will be available through resellers as well as via NEC’s built- to-order system, NEC Now. Prices start at $2,500 for a 233MHz Pentium II model with a 12.1 inch TFT screen.
