This contract will implement Convergys’ Active Revenue Management software, Geneva, thus providing Aliatel with one of the first fully integrated solutions for the charging of telecoms services in Central Europe.
This will enable Aliatel to offer a broader range of tariffs, covering a variety of different services – including voice, data and the Internet – and incorporate a variety of discounts and bonuses. These benefits will help Aliatel stay ahead of the competition by reacting quickly to the market and customer demands. And because the new billing solution is truly scalable, it will be able to grow with Aliatel’s business as the company expands its portfolio of services in the future.
The implementation of the new billing system is key in our preparation for the real deregulation of the Czech telecoms market. Therefore, we opted for the most advanced solution available, with a leading consulting company and the foremost Active Revenue Management product, said Pavel Paska, senior IT manager at Aliatel.
We have worked with Logica for a number of years on a variety of successful billing projects and our experience of Logica’s excellent consultants is that they are reliable and flexible, and understand our business as well as our technical needs. Geneva’s flexibility will enable us to take advantage of the opportunities that deregulation promises. We are very confident that this project will be delivered successfully, within a very ambitious time-frame.
Petr Kopecký, Logica’s divisional director of the Czech Republic said: Our primary concern was to ensure that Logica provided Aliatel with a robust solution capable of growing with its business. Our team of experts are well used to migrations of this type. We are migrating Aliatel’s current billing system to Geneva and integrating ERP, CRM and mediation into its business support system.
Petr Kopecký continued: Geneva was the obvious choice of Active Revenue Management system, providing market-leading functionality in a proven product. Geneva allows mobile operators to bill for GPRS and WAP services now and it will be able to support UMTS services as these come on-stream. A key consideration for Aliatel is that they have the flexiblity to introduce innovative services to retain its competitive advantage .
Stephen Thomas, managing director of Convergys EMEA said: The combination of Logica’s in-depth knowledge of the global telecoms market, with particular expertise and understanding of individual sectors – such as wireless and next-generation technologies – and Geneva’s innovative approach to billing is a powerful one. We are delighted to be supporting Aliatel’s business in its move towards a more customer centric operation.
Logica and Convergys EMEA are already working together on a number of projects in Europe. Projects already completed include: One (Connect Austria) a GSM operator in Austria, a value added SMS French operator and BT Genie the world’s first e-Telco, which started as a UK project and is now being rolled out across its European subsidaries.
