Helios Systems has announced availability of the MHP400 series memory boards for the Hewlett-Packard HP 9000 Series 400 workstation: the MHP400 series provides additional memory in 4Mb, 8Mb, 16Mb and 32Mb increments; each board contains 80nS page-mode DRAMS, which can be mixed and matched, and each system requires that additional memory be grouped in sets of two; the series memory is composed of two memory boards, each of which fit into a 72-pin bus-to-board memory slot, and memory transfers are controlled by the system processor; the Series 400s use a single-bit correct, double-bit detect ECC error caching scheme; each memory board has a 32-bit data width and 4 bits for both error detection and correction.
