Dell Computer KK, Tokyo is fuelling the price war in Japan: it has cut prices on its entire line by 9% to 23%, and is henceforth to bundle Micrsoft Corp’s Japanese version of Windows, plus a mouse, with every personal computer it sells; the 425s/L, will drop 21% in price to the equivalent of $1,730 for a 25MHz 80486SX machine with 4Mb and a 120Mb disk; Compaq KK, Compaq Computer Corp’s Japanese unit, told Dow Jones & Co it does not have plans to follow Dell’s price cuts, which suggests Dell Japan may not be doing as well as it had hoped.
