Pioneering auction site eBay Inc could have its dominance eroded after news last week that Amazon.com Inc has expanded its auctions service to the UK and Germany – EuropeÆs biggest internet markets. The news came as Yahoo! Inc revealed it too is catching up to eBay, becoming the second company to host one million simultaneous auctions. Amazon does not reveal how many auction users it has, but says it has 13.1 million registered buyers, including its auction sites.
