Deployed as part of an Ericsson core IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) solution, Acme Packet’s Net-Net session border controllers (SBC) protect Vodafone Portugal’s IMS network as well as provide a solution for service assurance, service reach maximization and regulatory compliance.
Acme Packet Net-Net SBCs deliver critical security and control that complement Ericsson’s IMS solution for Vodafone Portugal. Acme Packet’s Net-Safe security architecture provides denial of service protection from malicious attacks and non-malicious overloads, access control and topology hiding.
Call admission control policies on the Net-Net SBCs assure service quality and network availability. Acme Packet’s SBC is also deployed at the access border to provide lawful intercept capability for Vodafone Portugals PSTN emulation service.
Jorge Carvalho, ADSL voice project leader at Vodafone Portugal, said: Acme Packet SBCs fulfilled vital technical requirements to secure our IMS network and provide us with precise control over IP interactive sessions.
Seamus Hourihan, vice president of marketing and product management for Acme Packet, said: Our Net-Net SBC’s rich functionality includes an extensive set of security and control features for Vodafone Portugal’s IMS network. Vodafone Portugal is boldly pursuing this promise with our SBC protecting and enhancing its network.
