Xerox’s new Continuous Feed 4-over-1 system reportedly maintains the impact of full-colour with the economics of black and white in a high-speed system built for production print jobs.
According to Xerox, the new system combines power of Xerox 490 Color Continuous Feed Printer with the monochrome Xerox 650 Continuous Feed Printer. It is designed for transpromotional applications-documents that provide transactional and promotional information based on the recipients’ previous purchase habits. The system allows transition into colour for black-and-white bills and statements.
The company claims that the Continuous Feed 4-over-1 system, based on Xerox’s flash fusing technology, uses a micro-burst of light to heat only the toner and not the paper, resulting in better print image quality and greater substrate flexibility.
Eric Armour, president of global business group at Xerox, said: This latest breakthrough provides the right blend of color, speed and image quality to help transform costly, routine communications into high-impact promotional documents. It reinforces Xerox’s commitment to invest in and deliver continuous feed innovations to the marketplace.
