SubMicron Systems Corp, based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, has signed a letter of intent for the acquisition of Systems Chemistry Inc, described as a Milpitas, California manufacturer of advanced ultra high purity chemical delivery systems for the semiconductor and other industries. It has agreed to pay 3.4m new SubMicron shares, giving the agreement an indicated value of $20.4m. SubMicron says it is looking to the acquisition to enable it to offer the semiconductor fabrication industry a turnkey approach for bulk chemical generation and delivery with its automated, semi-automated and manual wet stations. Previously the semiconductor manufacturers would have to work with two or three separate suppliers.
