Motorola Mobility took to the catwalk on Saturday, showcasing the Moto 360 at the Ada + Nik AW15 collection.
The Moto 360 featured within the label’s AW15 show at London Collections Men 2015. Created by renowned influencers Ada Zanditon and Nik Thakkar, the label is known for its innovative use of technology to create signature designs and decided to partner with Motorola as the fashion and tech lines merge ever closer together.
When commenting on the partnership, Thakkar states, "Partnering with wearable tech pioneers has always been a priority for Ada + Nik which is why we are thrilled to be featuring Moto 360, the most stylish and powerful technologically advanced timepiece on the planet. We both love the sophisticated design and clean lines which make a perfect fit for our dark matter luxury menswear".
Recent research from Motorola found that design is imperative when buying wearables, with 50% of the nation seeing it as a key feature when deciding on their purchase.
Launched in September 2014, the Moto 360 is a classically-designed timepiece powered by Android Wear™. Its design and use of premium materials, including stainless steel and leather, emphasise the brand’s efforts to merge the line between fashion and wearables.
"We’re honoured to have been selected to be a part of Ada + Nik’s show; they’re always innovative on the catwalk and it’s great to see the Moto 360 take to the stage alongside their designs", says Jim Wicks, Senior Vice President of Consumer Experience Design at Motorola Mobility.
"Their strong links to technology, coupled with their industrial and edgy approach to fashion, make Ada + Nik a great fit for Motorola. This partnership illustrates how wearables are bringing the worlds of fashion and technology ever closer together and we believe that by creating devices that are aesthetically pleasing, but also easy to use, we’re giving consumers choices that we hope will appeal to all."
The modern timepiece was included in Ada + Nik’s runway show, short fashion film, Noir Desir, and as part of the lookbook imagery for the AW15 collection.
