In Australia, Vodafone had 2,126,000 customers. Net customer connections in the latest quarter were 16,000. Of the total customer base, 66% was post-paid and 34% pre-paid. Vodafone New Zealand recorded 101,000 new connections. Approximately 990,000 people in New Zealand were connected to Vodafone’s GSM network at 30 June 2001, an increase of 76% in the customer base during the 12 months from June 2000. Since 30 June 2001 Vodafone New Zealand has reached a total of more than one million customers.

Of the total customer base, 23% was post-paid and 77% pre-paid. In Fiji, the company says that it has 65,797 customers at quarter end. During the June quarter 10,740 new customers were added, up 90% on the previous quarter and up 127% over the year to June 2001. Of the total customer base, 11% was post-paid and 89% pre-paid.
