This alliance enables customers to more efficiently integrate Siebel eBusiness Applications with popular enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications leading to faster time to market and increased customer satisfaction.

This strategic partnership formalizes a long and successful working relationship between Siebel Systems and Vitria and will include joint development, joint marketing, and targeted sales programs. Initially, the companies will focus on packaged integration solutions tailored to the finance, energy, and telecommunications industries.

Siebel Systems provides an integrated family of eBusiness applications software enabling multichannel sales, marketing, and customer service systems to be deployed over the Web, call centers, field, reseller channels, retail and dealer networks. Vitria provides a comprehensive integration server that enables companies to integrate disparate applications and automate cross-application business processes within and across the extended enterprise. As a result of the alliance, Siebel Systems and Vitria will work together to develop a suite of packaged integration solutions that will enable Siebel eBusiness Applications and third-party applications to seamlessly exchange information in real time. For line of business managers, the solutions will reduce cycle times and operating costs. For IT developers, the solutions will reduce the time and cost required to integrate Siebel eBusiness Applications with other applications.

Siebel Systems’ partnership with Vitria addresses a need that many of our customers have integrating information managed by Siebel eBusiness Applications with complementary information stored in third-party applications such as ERP systems, said Dr. Steve Garnett, Vice President and General Manager of Alliances at Siebel Systems. Through this partnership, our joint customers will have a more accurate view of their customers and realize a competitive advantage by being able to better understand and service their customers.

Siebel eBusiness Applications are one of the most common solutions our customers ask us to integrate, said JoMei Chang, President and Chief Executive Officer of Vitria. By working with Siebel Systems to create packaged integration solutions, we will enable our customers to leverage and extend their Siebel eBusiness Applications investment across their entire portfolio of enterprise applications.

While many companies continue to deploy tactical CRM capabilities across operational, analytical, and collaborative domains, leaders will focus on integration to instantiate seamless customer life-cycle management (CLCM). CRM business/project managers must therefore become familiar with cross-functional/channel process integration issues and requisite application integration technologies, said Steve Bonadio, of Meta Group.
