Liquidated financial systems house Trisoft Plc has had its carcass picked clean by Vistec Plc and Servo Computer Services Plc. The former gets the recently-launched Quality Workbench quality management software, while Servo takes the rest of the Trisoft business following the departure of the company’s chairman and two founders. Vistec Plc, looking to buy a company after announcing profitable year-end results in June, already owns Sphinx Level V Unix distribution, Vistec Computer Services and Vistec Financial Systems subsidiaries. Quality Workbench will be handled by a new subsidiary, IdeaGen Software Ltd. IdeaGen, initially housing five ex-Trisoft staff, will concentrate on developing and marketing the Windows product, launched in May and available for NetWare by month-end. The group policy is to move towards services and software, said Vistec director and IdeaGen chairman Stephen Beach. We’re looking for a niche market product. Vistec also acquired a call management product, Callmaster, originally commissioned as a one-off project from Trisoft by a customer that now has the source code. Servo will use Trisoft to expand its existing communications business and provide complete systems. Trisoft is a Pegasus and Tetra accountancy software reseller. Servo purchased the group’s debtors, goodwill and staff, with seven redundancies in duplicated departments. The purchase of Trisoft’s stock is still in negotiation.
