Vangent will serve as the prime contractor, with subcontractors CACI International and Planned Systems International. The work will be performed at the four geographically dispersed Executive Information and Decision Support (EIDS) sites and at Vangent team sites in Falls Church and Chantilly, Virginia.
The EIDS mission encompasses healthcare performed within military facilities and by civilian-managed care contractors. These services require EIDS to receive and process over one billion healthcare records per year from multiple sources and systems. EIDS is the centralized data store for the Military Health System, collecting, processing and managing nearly 100 terabytes of enterprise data through a suite of decision support tools.
Under the EIDS infrastructure support contract, Vangent will provide systems operations, security and maintenance services for the MHS computing environment in support of the EIDS hardware and software infrastructure, which in turn will support EIDS applications development and production sustainment. The work will cover all EIDS hardware and operating systems as well as specific enterprise-level services spanning all EIDS projects. Technical and management support will include systems analysis, systems administration, programming, testing, implementation, documentation, security maintenance, security testing (DIACAP) support and performance monitoring for all EIDS hardware and operating system software.
Mac Curtis, president and CEO of Vangent, said: We’re delighted to continue building on our partnership with the EIDS Program Office. We look forward to working closely with EIDS to provide critical IT support services necessary to ensure the delivery of high quality healthcare information.
