USA Mobility, a provider of wireless messaging and communications services, has reported revenue of $54.6m for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010, a decline of 16.5% compared to $65.4m in the same period a year earlier.

The company posted operating income of $12.7m, compared to $12.2m for the same period a year ago. Operating income percentage to total revenues grew to 23.2% from 18.7% for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009.

For the quarter ended 31 December 2010, the company’s net income increased to $40.5m, or $1.82 per diluted share, compared to net income of $3.6m, or $0.16 per diluted share for the same period last year.

For the fiscal year 2010, the company posted net revenue of $233.3m, a decrease of 19.6% compared to $290m for the previous fiscal 2009.

The company’s operating income was $57.2m compared to an operating income of $57.4m and net income was $77.9m compared to a net income of $67.6m for the previous fiscal year.

USA Mobility chief financial officer Shawn Endsley said they were able to reduce operating expenses at a faster pace than their revenue decline and thus maintain strong EBITDA margins throughout the year and at the same time, ARPU remained strong and capital expenses declined, allowing them to generate net operating cash flow after investing activities of $72.8m.
