Unix International Inc has comw out with a second development version of Unix System V.4 Enhanced Security/Multiprocessing. It now has a fully multi-threaded kernel and can support up to 30 processors. Other enhancements include a compilation environment that enables users to build and install both uni-processor and multi-processor versions of the system, installable reference binaries for iAPX-86, system management commands for administering the multi-processor features and a preliminary version of the application programming interfaces for multi-threaded enhanced security features. Availability of completed ES/MP is set for mid-1993. Fujitsu Ltd, ICL Plc, NCR Corp, Pyramid Technology Corp and Sequent Computer Systems Inc are all helping Unix System Laboratories Inc with the work.
