The Aurius system, which was implemented in eight months, features embedded workflow management, an online product designer and real-time general ledger.

It was selected by Unity following a screening process of core system suppliers.

Apak claims Aurius was chosen because it was one of the few UK-based systems that offered advanced retail banking functionality that could be deployed at relatively low cost.

With .NET, Unity and other Aurius customers are likely to see significant benefits in reliability, scalability and performance compared to other system technologies, said Microsoft’s industry manager for retail banking, Ian Wilkinson.
