The deal sees Blue Bell, Pennsylvania-based Unisys become Alfresco’s first SI partner offering a team of Alfresco-certified consultants to work on the migration, implementation, and deployment of content and records management systems.
Launched by former Documentum and Business Objects executives in 2005 Alfresco is based in Maidenhead, UK and is focused on bringing the benefits of open source to the content management market.
It joins open source database vendor MySQL AB and Red Hat Inc’s JBoss open source middleware subsidiary as key Unisys open source partners. Open source became a significant focus for Unisys during 2005, and this June it launched its Oasis, Open and Secure Integrated Solutions, services offering.
