Track Data Corp says it has terminated negotiations to acquire the non-internet business of PC Quote Inc, first announced in April (CI No 3,140). The deal, which would have seen the assets of PC Quote’s satellite-based financial news delivery system change hands, fell through when Track Data’s offers were refused, the company says. A spokesperson for PC Quote says the offers were simply not acceptable and the two parties couldn’t come to terms on the division of PC Quote’s business. Track Data has no immediate plans to acquire a similar business, and PC Quote says it is in financing talks with strategic partners who are interested in its business as a whole.
