Time Warner Cable has selected the SecureMedia Encryptonite ONE HLS+ application from Motorola Mobilty to streamline its video distribution across a variety of devices.
The SecureMedia tool is the security component of Motorola’s Medios suite of content-delivery enhancements.
The application is a single content distribution platform based on the HLS adaptive streaming protocol that enables operators to deliver linear and on-demand content to a wide range of devices, including smartphones, tablets, game consoles, and connected TVs and Blu-Ray players.
The new security component of Motorola’s Medios suite will enable Time Warner Cable to avoid the cost and complication of operating multiple streaming platforms and security systems to reach multiple device types, said Motorola.
SecureMedia Encryptonite ONE HLS+ solves scalability issue with a standards-based application that consolidates content preparation and encryption onto a single platform.
It also streamlines the entire content processing and delivery process for multi-screen application, while ensuring the protection of digital rights and the security of the content streams.
The new system complies with the latest Hollywood studio security specifications for multi-screen applications by incorporating SecureMedia’s security features including device registration, client authentication and authorization, secure key delivery and clone-tamper- jailbreak detection.
