Curzon Press, known for its Asian and Middle Eastern Studies publications was owned and developed by Malcolm Campbell who was formerly Marketing Director at Routledge. He will remain with the Press as it is integrated into the area studies list of the social science division of Taylor & Francis Books Limited, under the combined imprint of RoutledgeCurzon.

Alongside its core output of scholarly monographs, Curzon’s programme contains a growing number of reference works and upper-level textbooks. Two new journals have been added in the last year with a further two planned next year.

Curzon was originally founded in 1970 and was acquired by Malcolm and Martina Campbell in 1991. Martina Campbell managed the business until four years later when Malcolm Campbell joined full time, from which time it rapidly expanded, to its present position. Curzon, like Taylor & Francis Books Limited, is distributed by ITPS in Andover.

Roger Horton, managing director of Taylor & Francis Books Limited said

Curzon is a model example of developing a small press with a tight focus and clear vision of its market. Built on a similar base to our existing Asian Studies list it seemed a natural fit for the Group – I look forward to seeing it grow yet further.

Malcolm Campbell said

Curzon has a backlist of over 800 titles and now produces 100 new titles a year. I am delighted at this new development and am sure it will enable us to achieve even more as the combined RoutledgeCurzon Asian studies list.
