Cambridge-based Tadpole Technology Plc has announced the availability of Software Components Group Inc’s pSOS+ multi-processing real-time operating system kernel and cross development environment on its 150 MIPS TP881V Motorola Inc 88100 RISC-based multi-processor board. The pSOS+m, says Tadpole, is used in high-performance embedded systems in telecommunications, defence electronics, simulation and other multi-processing applications. And the TP881V is an integrated subsystem combining one to eight processors, high-speed multi-ported memory, dual SCSI interfaces, network and serial input-output facilities coupled to a high-performance VME bus interface. Dual SCSI buses provide high bandwidth input-output capability for applications requiring interleaved disk access or disk monitoring for data integrity. The board set can be optionally configured with a VSB interface. Software Components’ pSOS+ real time kernel and development environment will be up on two of Tadpole’s optimally designed 68040 single board computers, the TP40V and TP41V, this quarter. The pSOS+ and its integrated cross-development environment include file system and network manager, a system analyser and source-level debugger, and optimising C and Ada compilers.
