Sitting at their kitchen table one evening last spring, Swedish couple Lisa From and Arne Sandgren claim they suddenly found the solution to the Year 2000 problem. Now they have 641 days to cash in – hoping that a large company will buy the rights from them. Government experts confirm that the method works, the newspaper Dagens Indfuistri says. It’s embarrassing that none of the experts has come up with this simple solution before, an expert told the paper. Arne Sandgren and his fiance are hoping that a large organization or company will buy the method. They are taking out a patent but patent office red tape means it won’t be official until after the millennium shift. According to Arne Sandgren, his method will not solve all the problems connected with Y2K. But at least all large corporations and institution won’t have to rebuild their large and maybe old databases to store new date information. He said the best thing would be if an international organization took over the method and made it universally available.
