Sun Data Inc and SunGard Recovery Services Inc have agreed to co-operative marketing of disaster recovery services for IBM mid-range systems – the AS/400 and old System/38 and System/36 kit: the deal enables the companies to share disaster recovery facilities, technical personnel and support capabilities; SunGard has primarily targeted the mainframe disaster recovery market, while Sun Data has concentrated on mid-range disaster recovery services, but now both will offer mid-range recovery servi-ces through SunGard’s Philadelphia, Chicago and San Diego MegaCenters; Sun Data will continue to offer hot site services through its headquarters facility in Atlanta and existing Sun Data facilities in Southern California and Philadelphia will be available as IBM mid-range warm sites to provide more flexibility in multiple disasters.
