Campbell, California-based StrataCom Inc has introduced standard broadband interfaces for its fast packet switch, the IPX. The new features will enable users to build one compatible cell switching network at narrowband and broadband speeds, using public and private switching services. Among those planning to install StrataCom’s new broadband interfaces are US carrier WilTel, based in Oklahoma, and Ohio-based CompuServe. WilTel has introduced a new public frame relay service, WilPak, and CompuServe has also announced plans to introduce a public frame relay service, Frame-Net, later this year – and both will be based on the StrataCom IPX.
