Storage Technology Corp will launch its Iceberg redundant array of inexpensive disks using 5.25 Hewlett-Packard Co drives in January and volume shipments are expected in July: the product is anticipated to contribute between $400m and $500m to 1993 turnover and analysts are predicting that the new product will enable StorageTek to increase its small share of the disk storage market; they estimate that the company will earn around $2.50 per share in 1991 compared with $2.22 in 1990 and the company says it is comfortable with those estimates; StorageTek says that it will reduce the backlog of orders for its tape library product in July when it is to increase shipments to 10 units a day, up from the current six units.
