Storage Technology Corp has agreed to pay $11.5m for a 542,000 square foot plant in Longmont, Colorado to prepare for the volume production of its Iceberg redundant array of 5.25 disk drives with completion set for 60 days and occupation beginning by mid-year; the plant has space for up to 1,200 employees, and as well as making the Iceberg, the plant will accomodate some other activities currently carried out in leased properties in Boulder County, Colorado, enabling StorageTek to reduce its costs.
