Team software company StarBase Corp says it currently includes version control, change management, threaded conversations with workflow processes in its StarTeam 2.1 and StarTeam Pro 3.0 product suites. StarTeam Enterprise 3.0, scheduled for early second quarter next year, adds tasks and extensive customization and event processing. The intention is that developers can manage these things as files even if a specific feature is not included in the current release, such as requirements and test suites. The initial release of StarTeam Pro 3.0 will have a Java-based command line product which will form the basis for a full Java user interface implementation scheduled by second quarter next year. StarBase claims the companies OEMing or bundling StarTeam’s version control module – Oracle, Symantec, Visix, Aonix, Allaire, SoftQuad and SuperCede – will ship over one million copies of the program between them over the next 12 months. The company claims it’s negotiating a bunch of third party bundling deals for its suite in addition to being included in Segue Software Inc’s future software products. StarBase engineers hail from PC database company Ashton-Tate, which was subsequently acquired by Borland International Inc. á
