UK workflow software house Staffware Plc said that sales for the first quarter grew by 46% over the same period the previous year to reach $16.7m, with software license revenue showing a 49% increase. The company’s upbeat announcement came as it was pushing Staffware 2000, the latest version of its workflow product, which it claims will enable the deployment of workflow technology throughout the enterprise, independent of the computing environment. Staffware’s problem has never been revenue, which rose 26% in the last financial year, but rather profitability. Now that the company is promising to put greater emphasis on the bottom line, investors are waiting to see whether the surge in profits will be reflected in earnings.
