Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) has also bought The Matrix Online game form Warner Bros. in a bid to expand its online game offerings.
SOE will work closely with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics to maintain the authenticity consumers demand from the DC Comics franchises, said John Smedley, president, SOE. We will also take steps to continue the same high level of service that subscribers have come to expect from The Matrix Online game.
According to the agreement, SOE will work with Warner Bros. to create a next generation online game based on the works of DC Comics, the creator of characters such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and the Sandman.
The new game will be made for the PC and next generation gaming platforms and is expected to arrive in the fourth quarter of 2007.
