Solix Internet Inc, a 35-person spin-out of ERP integrator Solix Systems Inc, puts its head above the parapet today, unveiling applications claimed to perform enterprise-wide operations management. The idea is that operational data from an organization’s administrative accounting, human resources, purchasing apps – in ERP and other software – is captured and processed by the Solix iOperations server. Solix claims the server consolidates processes and activities that must otherwise be implemented discretely on each application or custom- integrated. The server framework includes a request director, policy manager, workflow router and will initially ship with procurement, expense management and time card collection applications.
Solix has a range of adapters for use with Baan, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, LDAP and email systems but doesn’t consider itself an EAI vendor. It should be rolling out the application this quarter. We expect Solix will take the service outside of the firewall and begin to offer outsourced support for these services in future.
The 14-month-old company has raised $3m in two rounds of funding. It is completely independent of Solix but is keeping the name to leverage the company’s client base, which includes KPMG. Solix Systems co-founder Veena Gundavelli is president of Solix Internet.
