Zobrist has launched a new eCommerce offering eZcommerce based on the IBM WebSphere Commerce software running in the cloud.

The company said that eZcommerce is an eCommerce offering with an online storefront, a set of simple catalog management, smart marketing and customer care tools packaged with managed services.

With eZcommerce, Zobrist uses IBM WebSphere Commerce to create the online storefront, help companies populate it with products, launch and manage it 24x7x365 using cloud computing resources. Customers will also have various options to extend and scale their online storefront using the initial launch as a base.

According to Zobrist, eZcommerce features include, an interactive branded storefront that is continuously refreshed with images and content; optimised check-out flow to keep shoppers focused on completing their purchases; marketing spots for easy up-sell and cross-sell; Google Analytics to get web traffic information; and SEO Friendly URLs so shoppers can easily find products from search engines.

Sandy Carter, vice president at IBM Software Business Partners, said: “eCommerce is no longer simply about selling online; it’s about delivering a smarter, more compelling and engaging shopping experience.

“IBM WebSphere Commerce combined with applications like eZcommerce in the cloud can help clients gain all of the technical and financial advantages of a cloud service while also providing them with a competitive advantage in the marketplace.”
