Wipro Technologies, the IT services business of Wipro, has launched the Hosted Document Management (HDM) system, an enterprise document management offering based on the Software as a Service (SaaS) model.
The system was developed as a part of the strategic alliance between Wipro and EMC. With the new HDM model, Wipro and EMC claim to provide end-to-end document management services which are expected to reduce cost and complexity for the clients.
Built on Wipro’s SaaS platform, HDM utilises EMC Documentum Enterprise Content Management 6.5 and provides a system that is expected to simplify data capture, management, retrieval and archival of business critical documents to make better use of valuable information assets.
The new system is expected to enable enterprises to manage the increasing demand for transactional content and business process efficiencies. It claims to allow customers to eliminate initial capital expenditure and reduce cost by over 30% depending on customer requirements.
Jayakrishnan Sasidharan, vice-president for Portals and Content Management at Wipro Technologies, said: HDM automates business processes and management of transactional content without having to worry about infrastructure, labour and time to market. This results in substantial cost savings for the clients and helps address their specific ECM need of managing transactional content and enhancing business process efficiency.
