Police in the UK have arrested four men suspected to be associated with the hacker groups Anonymous and LulzSec, as part of a wider operation involving UK law enforcement and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

e-Crime unit of Scotland Yard is questioning the suspects who are from Doncaster, Warminster, Northampton and London, according to BBC report.

Following attacks by both groups on major firms and government bodies, authorities around the world have actively engaged in nabbing suspects.

The police have arrested Christopher Weatherhead, a 20-year-old man from Northampton and Ashley Rhodes, a 26-year-old from Kennington, near London, both of whom are expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on 7 September.

In addition, a 24-year-old man from Doncaster, and a 20-year-old from Wiltshire have been nabbed by the police for conspiring to commit offences under the Computer Misuse Act 1990.

In the US, 14 suspected Anonymous members appear before a judge in San Jose, California, in a mass court appearance. The suspected members denied their involvement in the attack on PayPal’s website in December 2010.
