SunGard Availability Services, a provider of disaster recovery and managed IT services, has introduced Enterprise Cloud Services in North America.

The new Enterprise Cloud Services is expected to allow users to tap into the efficiency of a fully managed cloud environment with enterprise-grade application availability and security.

The new service is a Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering that is built on Vblock technology from VMware, Cisco and EMC (VCE).

The offering provides managed compute, network, storage and security services that support customer production applications, said the company.

In addition, the Enterprise Cloud Services includes both multi-tenant and dedicated private cloud offerings, options for intrusion detection and database services that enable management of SQL databases.

The company said the offering is backed by service level agreements (SLA) to ensure performance with 99.95% cloud infrastructure availability.

Further, the SunGard SLA supports both the VM infrastructure and hardware, which are monitored and supported 24/7 within secure SunGard data centres.

SunGard Availability Services product management vice president Rob Walters said with the launch of their fully managed, IaaS offering, their goal is to deliver not just an IT offering, but to address critical business challenges for their customers.
