Kickstarter has signed a deal with payments service Stripe, replacing Amazon Payments as payment processor for projects hosted on the crowd funding platform.
Kickstarter said in a statement: "We’re partnering with Stripe to seamlessly collect and process payments for all projects on Kickstarter."
"We’ve already started moving projects over to the new system, and by next week, it will be in place for all new projects."
The latest switch comes after Amazon confirmed plans to suspend the payment products earlier used by Kickstarter.
"We’ve worked with Amazon Payments from the very beginning of Kickstarter — a year before we launched, in fact. They’ve been an excellent partner, processing $1 billion in pledges. Late last year Amazon decided to discontinue the payments product that we have used."
In addition to the latest Kickstarter deal, Stripe processes payments for other tech majors such as Facebook and Twitter. Stripe has most recently raised $70m in funding, which has escalated its current value to $3.5bn.
