Stonesoft, a provider of network security appliances, has rolled out new StoneGate SSL-1030, a secure socket layer (SSL) appliance that provides virtual private network (VPN) for mobile workforce.
Stonesoft said that the new SSL appliance provides security functionality, such as two-factor authentication in a single system.
According to Stonesoft, the new SSL-1030 is designed for the small and medium-sized organisations with up to 100 concurrent mobile users. In addition, the new SSL appliance also caters to organisations’ web-based applications as well as cloud-based web services offered by MSSPs.
The company said that the new SSL appliance features the StoneGate SSL 1.3 software version to provide security capabilities, such as: versatile authentication using open standards, and single sign-on support. It extends SSO support to include Telnet and SSH as well as Windows Fileshare, Microsoft Terminal Server, Citrix Web Interface, Microsoft Sharepoint Portal, Outlook Web Access and others.
Other features include, traceability and traffic recording, security for Microsoft Outlook Activesync, support for Microsoft Windows Security Centre, centralised support for remote upgrades and enhanced password policies to improve overall network security.
