Samsung Electronics has introduced new Android-based tablet, the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids that is specially designed for children.
The new tablet will have educational tools and safety features the parents want for their children.
Galaxy Tab 3 Kids is powered by the 1.2GHz dual processor and has 1GB RAM, 3MP front-facing camera as well as 1.3MP rear-facing camera, and will run on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean version.
Samsung Electronics IT & Mobile Communication CEO and Head JK Shin said that the company saw an opportunity to create a device just for kids that provides kid-friendly user experience.
"It’s no secret that kids are using technology more than ever before," Shin added.
The tablet features a 7-inch screen with 1024×600 pixel resolution and offers 8GB of internal storage memory that can be expanded up to 32 GB.
According to the company, the new tablet comes pre-loaded with content including educational, games, entertainment and e-book apps along with an option that allows the parents to choose the apps they want their kids to have access.
The device will be fitted with a Kids Case that features kids-friendly grip and multiple stand options as well as a C Pen to allow drawing.
Samsung plans to make the tablet available in Korea in early September 2013 and will also be launched across China, Europe, US, Africa, South America and South East Asia.
