Trimble has revealed that Oracle has developed an extension which allows Oracle Field Service Applications (part of Oracle E-Business Suite) users to add Trimble’s GeoManager offering to create an enterprise-level scheduling and dispatching platform for field service organisations.
The company said that the features of GeoManager will allow organisations to improve fleet performance and the management of mobile workers and distributed assets.
The company claims that by using Trimble GeoManager with Oracle E-Business suite, customers will be able to see real-time jobs and technician locations on a map, find the nearest vehicle to a job, send messages to the mobile workforce, and view detailed reports.
According to the company, GeoManager provides engine idling, fuel economy and carbon emissions information for fleet operations and fuel/carbon management programs. Speed, driver performance and engine fault codes can also be monitored and managed by this offering.
Oracle E-Business Suite provides organisations with a business foundation that reduces costs and increases productivity through a portfolio of integrated business processes.
Steve Tonas, vice president of EBS CRM applications at Oracle, said: By developing an extension for Trimble GeoManager, Oracle E-Business Suite Field Service can now take advantage of real-time location information to increase field workforce productivity and streamline call dispatch operations.”
Rick Beyer, vice president of mobile solutions segment at Trimble, said: Working with Oracle allows Trimble to provide an integrated global solution across many industries for businesses that want to streamline operations and increase productivity.
