Opera Software has announced its browser products on phones, tablets, TVs and computers have reached 300 million monthly users.
"On the final stretch up to 300 million users, we have experienced the fastest acceleration in user growth we have ever seen," Boilesen said," said Opera Software CEO, Lars Boilesen.
"Now, we are shifting into the next gear to claim a bigger piece of the pie in the smartphone market."
The firm has also revealed plans to shift from Presto rendering engine to the WebKit engine as well as Chromium for future versions of mobile and PC browsers.
Opera is planning to reveal its upcoming browser for Android at Mobile World Congress.
Opera Software CTO, HÃ¥kon Wium Lie, said that the company will work to enhance the WebKit engine which meets the company’s standards and offers the required performance.
"It makes more sense to have our experts working with the open source communities to further improve WebKit and Chromium, rather than developing our own rendering engine further," Lie said.
"Opera will contribute to the WebKit and Chromium projects, and we have already submitted our first set of patches: to improve multi-column layout."
