Nationwide are now offering their customers the ability to check their account balance in real-time using their Android Wear Smartwatch.

The result of a partnership with IBM, users can access their account by connecting their smartwatches to Nationwide’s mobile banking app.

Nationwide chief operating officer Tony Prestedge said, "Providing customers with a variety of ways to manage their money, whenever and however they want is a priority for us.

"Giving those members who want and have the technology the ability to check their balance on their watch provides them with even more choice as to how they interact with us whether it is online, through an app, face-to-face or over the phone. "

Nationwide has also teamed up with Visa to launch the V.me digital wallet, with the aim to make online shopping more secure.
