Mozilla has developed an optimised version of JavaScript which will allow game developers to create visually enhanced 3D games which can be played through a web browser.
The optimised version of JavaScript will allow game developers to distribute visually stunning and performance intensive games to gamers more easily, the firm said, without any additional costs associated with third-party plugins.
Mozilla has collaborated with Epic Games to leverage new JavaScript optimisation technology in order to launch the Epic Unreal Engine 3 to the Web.
The new technology was reportedly tested by the company using its BananaBread game demo that was built using web technologies by Mozilla like WebGL, Emscripten and asm.js.
According to the company, it is working with premium game publishers like Disney, EA and ZeptoLab, which are using the same technology to increase the performance of their top-rated games.
