Kaboodle, a social shopping site on the web and a Hearst-owned property, has appointed Anne Zehren as the new CEO. She will succeed Manish Chandra, founder and CEO of the company.

Ms Zehren joins Kaboodle from Common Sense Media, where she served as president and COO. During her tenure she headed licensing deals with Facebook, Comcast, Time Warner, Best Buy, Fandango, Yahoo! and Google, among other media and technology companies.

Before joining Common Sense Media, Ms Zehren was president for Current TV, and prior to that, she was the launch publisher for Teen People and held leadership positions at Glamour, Newsweek and NBC.

Kenneth Bronfin, president of Hearst Interactive Media, a unit of Hearst, said: "Anne’s expertise in launching and building profitable media and internet businesses, and her extensive background in women’s brands, makes her a perfect leader to build upon Kaboodle’s dramatic organic growth over the past four years."

Ms Zehren said: "Kaboodle is poised to benefit from all of the exciting changes happening in social media, advertising and online retail right now. I’m looking forward to working with the talented team here to leverage the strong website and community they’ve created and take the brand to the next level."
