A survey claims 64% of IT decision makers are facing challenges with existing vulnerability management solutions.
Lack of visibility into the networks and old firewall systems are the top two factors for vulnerabilities.
Only about half of the respondents are confident in their companies’ vulnerability management capabilities in the cloud.
The study claimed 37% of US security professionals estimated that their company’s sensitive data was breached in the last 12 months. Cyber attacks occurred more than once for 29% of these companies.
Alert Logic chief marketing officer Ben Matheson said: "Traditional vulnerability management solutions were not built to handle the complex and dynamic nature of the cloud.
"We believe this study confirms that people want automated, continuous scanning and monitoring to achieve full visibility into their cloud environments."
Forrester Consulting conducted the study on behalf of Alert Logic.
