FusionOne, a provider of mobile phone content portability services, has announced partnerships with two new mobile content providers: Zed and RealGames.
RealGames is a casual games business unit for digital entertainment services company RealNetworks.
Through these partnerships, mobile phone subscribers can now seamlessly move downloaded applications from Zed and RealGames from one mobile device to another using FusionOne’s Handset Transfer System.
FusionOne said that the Handset Transfer System enables mobile carriers to preserve and grow revenue streams derived from content sales by ensuring that when customers get a new phone their downloaded applications are transferred to the new handset.
Content providers can preserve and extend existing relationships with their subscriber customers regardless of a subscriber’s mobile device, and subscribers will no longer be inconvenienced by having to remember, rediscover and repurchase applications from their previous phone. Subscribers will be able to take their applications with them as they upgrade their devices, added FusionOne.
Sean Amann, general manager of global publishing for RealGames, said: FusionOne’s solution eliminates the customer’s need to rediscover and repurchase their gaming content, making it easier for the consumer to enjoy their favorite mobile games from GameHouse.com and RealArcade.
