US based security software provider Flexera Software has acquired IT security software provider Secunia, in a move to help enterprises address cyber security threats more proactively.

Secunia offers Vulnerability Intelligence Manage and Corporate Software Inspector that helps IT security and operations teams identify, assess and remediate software vulnerabilities.

Secunia claims that its products are capable of immediately identifying known vulnerabilities along with their potential impacts. They can quickly resolve the issue through the usage and verification of the appropriate patches.

Flexera Software on the other hand claims that it can connect the dots between software asset management and cyber security.

Flexera Software CEO Mark Bishof said: "As cybersecurity threats continue to grow, leading companies will not only proactively manage these threats but will also integrate Software Vulnerability Management into core software asset management processes.

"Secunia’s products deliver the Software Vulnerability Management capabilities enterprises urgently need today while complementing our existing market-leading solutions for Software License Optimisation and Application Readiness."
