Critical Path, a provider of messaging software and services, and TCT Mobile, a mobile phone manufacturer, have signed a partnership agreement to incorporate social media applications into the new release of ALCATEL mobile phones.

By using the ShoZu platform from Critical Path, TCT Mobile will provide a pre-loaded social media sharing application onto an array of new ALCATEL handsets which are scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2011.

The new social media app will enable mobile users to send photos, videos or status updates to their favorite social networks with just one click, the company claims

TCT Mobile EMEA technical director Emmanuel Lambert said there is a strong and growing demand for mobile social applications to be available on mobile handsets.

"We are delighted to be partnering with Critical Path to deliver a superior application experience across our newest and exciting ALCATEL range," Lambert said.

The companies said that approximately 10 million handsets will be pre-loaded with a social media sharing application powered by Critical Path’s ShoZu platform.

Further, the application also will be available on the complete range of ALCATEL’s multimedia handsets.
