Capgemini America, a subsidiary of the Capgemini Group, and IBX Group, a provider of e-purchasing services, have said that they will work together to develop a new procurement platform – deployed on Capgemini’s BPOpen technology platform.
Capgemini claims that the new procurement platform is expected to lower the cost of procurement for clients, improve the return on sourcing cost savings, and enhance visibility and control of their procurement process.
The new procurement platform will leverage the combined offerings of the two companies, including technology and processes, competence in both purchasing process and purchasing technology, and delivery centres – part of Capgemini’s Rightshore delivery network.
Reportedly, all sets of tools within the BPOpen technology platform can be deployable without the requirement to build a new system for each customer. This development is expected to enable clients to address all supply chain demands – ranging from spend visibility to leveraged sourcing.
The companies said that the elements of new procurement platform includes: software as a service offering, open architecture to integrate other technologies, enhanced category insight and capabilities, pre-populated content for defined categories, supplier network with more than 20,000 suppliers.
David Poole, head of BPO for Capgemini in the Americas, said: “Working with the IBX Group, we’ve been able to develop this new solution that further enhances Capgemini’s standardised global procurement processes and generates accelerated sourcing savings by leveraging Capgemini’s global insight and capabilities and IBX’s Procurement on-demand solutions.”
