Apple has announced that it will increase the price of apps in Canada and most parts of Europe, due to changes in exchange rates and local laws.
An Apple Insider cited an e-mail from Apple to a developer saying: "prices on the App Store will increase for all territories in the European Union as well as in Canada and Norway, decrease in Iceland, and change in Russia."
"These changes are being made to account for adjustments in value-added tax (VAT) rates and foreign exchange rates."
The cheapest apps in the UK are sold for £0.69, which is expected to rise to £1.04.
However, for the Russian app store, prices are expected to change rather than rise given the high currency value depriciation.
Previously the iPhone maker made similar increases in Australia, South Africa India, Indonesia, and Turkey, and reduced prices in Israel and New Zealand.
